I wouldn't call it outdated. Its nothing special and rather uninspired, but its fine. I wouldn't be surprised if another one was brought in.Do you think Racine will get more Andean Bears? Isn't their enclosure outdated?

Its small, a bit scruffy in places, but is pleasant overall. The Stork/Tufted Deer aviary is a wonderful gem, and there are also a handful of other rarities including west caucasian tur, Hartmans mountain zebras and a fossa. Other than that everything else is pretty basic, Walkabout Creek is nice, you can very close to the black rhinos, the Vanishing Kingdom is a marvelous historic building - even if it does keep orangutans indoors 24/7 and features cat cages that appear all too similar to Lincoln Parks now defunct lion house and in general has multiple issues as an animal exhibit building. There are a few exhibits that are rather bad to put it bluntly, such as the penguin pool, hawk cage, and those interior Vanishing Kingdom exhibits. However, its still a decent little zoo that is definitely worth a visit if your near the areas. An hour or two should be more than enough. That's good. I've never visited Racine before, is it worth it?
I'd love to go there just to see their Lesser Adjutant Storks. I need to find out when their breeding season is as I'd really like to film them when their neck colors are vibrant yellow and purple. Its small, a bit scruffy in places, but is pleasant overall. That's very sad, I'm happy I was able to see her before she was gone. I'd guess after Tavek is gone, they'd need to get a new species to the exhibit, or get a new exhibitOne of the West Caucasian turs, May, passed away at age 18.This leaves her mate, Tavek, as the only one of his species in the AZA.

Were they both that old?Not just the AZA - this leaves Tavek as the last individual in the US.
The female, May, was 18 years old. Tavek, the sole remaining tur, is 15 years old. According to the Racine Zoo's instagram post about May's death, the life expectancy of a West Caucasian Tur is 12 years. Were they both that old?
