Resorts in zoos

Hi,

it seems to be a fad to build expensive hotels attached to zoos, perhaps imitating African safari lodges. Which zoos have them? What do you think about them? What animals? Anybody had money to stay in one?

While I never stayed there, the one attached to Disney's Animal Kingdom in Orlando is fantastic. The Lodge is impressive and you might sit on the balcony outside your room watching giraffes (instead of tourists on the beach).

To my knowledge, zoos from Berlin to Chester to Columbus, Ohio are looking into this.

And then there's the marine side of it, like Atlantis Resort or Sentosa.

AS I type this I'm at the Seaworld Resort on Australia's Gold Coast. I got a very good rate (better than anything else around but admittedly, it was a midweek/internet/prepaid deal). Unfortunately, Seaworld has even less animals than I remember, most of it is now a fun park.

:(

Although it is interesting to note that while operationally, the Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is "attached" to Disney's Animal Kingdom, physically it is not.
