His name is Pugsly. He arrived several months ago around septemberish, if I recall properly. Pugsly is adorable and one of the best takins around, and was also an awesome big brother. 10/10.

Gobi the bactrian camel died on Saturday:

What worries me is that Gobi was male, but is he the only one? If so, the zoo's bactrian camel breeding program could be in trouble, unless the zoo looks to others for another, like Toronto with Goober or Ollie most likely.

Goober is retired and castrated some time back. Ollie has been gone for years. He had a baby in Calgary last year with Eva, another former TZ camel.

Jamarcus was castrated to become the Outreach rep.

Zip is the TZ breeding male and he has three girls to keep him busy.

They might be in for a bit of a wait in that case, unless they purchase a male from the private sector. The only facility I can think off off the top of my head that *might* have a surplus male older than a year would be African lion Safari, however their herd is all white animals, so I'm not sure if riverview would be interested.
