A fire at the zoo has caused approximately $40 000 in damage to the zoo's primate building May 8th. Staff were able to rescue all the building's animals while firefighters fought the flames in the buildings attic. Thankfully everyone is safe and sound. The zoo was able to reopen later in the day.

On March 13th, the zoo announced that due to an altercation between Meadow and one of the facility's male otters, Meadow sustained a leg injury that caused an amputation of said limb. The zoo also announced they moved Meadow on display into the west outdoor primate exhibit.
