Koala on loan until September:

https://www.localsyr.com/news/local-news/rosamond-gifford-zoo-will-have-two-koalas-for-the-summer/

These two female koalas, Kumiri and Kolet, came from the San Diego Zoo to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in May of 2023 as a part of the Conservation and Education Loan Program.

The West Coast girls will be staying temporarily in the Koala Outpost.

I was completely expecting this to be something common, or at most a ray touch tank, so this is neat!

Koala stuff at the zoo today. They had two people stationed outside where the exhibit will be to answer questions. They were nice to talk to but didn't seem to know much of anything regarding super basic questions, other than they love koalas. For the outside thing, I don't know if that's just a display to advertise them or if they'll be put out there sometimes?

Was the komodo outside? This looks like the koalas are taking over the indoor komodo exhibit, which makes sense given that the komodo often summers outdoors.

I didn't see the komodo anywhere :( My last visit was a year and a half ago, when they were building/redoing that indoor komodo area, so I've never seen anything in that exhibit area lol.

How long has that back exhibit by the ruffed lemurs and NA porcupine been boarded up for?
