bigcat speciali once again a very interesting and concise comment from you

Wrong on both accounts I think. bigcat speciali's post was predictable and far-from concise - as usual.

But, much as I hate to admit it, I do agree with his sentiments.

bigcat speciali once again a very interesting and concise comment from you
unfortunately the link you have provided does not seem to work have accessed directly at barrow bc licencing committee
i do not have a great understanding of how zoo,s should operate/comply with statutory requirements but it would seem reading through this document that the zoo is still refuting the inspectors report and he(gill) still does not acknowledge any wrong doing.
i particularly like the comment he makes around the inadequate fencing in one of the new houses (use of hay bales and pallets) which was not completed owing to the council
luring the fabricator away from the zoo by paying him a higher hourly rate
once again it would appear it is every ones fault but his
it is nice to see that the local council appears to be doing a thorough piece of work this time and is not giving way to outside pressure
just another observation but i cant see gill attending this meeting as if i am correct i think he is before Manchester Crown court on these days to enter pleas around the case involving the unfortunate death of the keeper killed in the tiger compound

Thank you and most appreciated.

David Gill has not attended any meeting thus far regarding the workings and licence of the zoo, that has been given to his wife and two others. The council has this time made very sure on who's footing the legal stance is and the findings of these reports has rubbished David Gill in every shape and form. However, as noted by yourself, Dave Gill has made numerous attempts to again blame everything on the council and inspection team. This spitting out his dummy has gone on far too long and the council and inspection has seen sense. Despite being told to stop hand feeding and to stop all public from feeding without care and due attention to diet and hygiene and safety.

Job vacancy
Zoo Jobs: Senior Experienced Zoo Animal Department Manager[/QUOte

"Due to new ownership and a new start for the future. The Trustees of Safari Zoo Nature Foundation are looking to employ a Senior Experienced Zoo Animal Department Manager." - Err no. The zoo is not under new ownership and the trustees are the same as before. Companies House and other company checks still give the ownership as David S. Gill and the Trustees are still David S. Gill and co. https://www.duedil.com/company/03561692/south-lakes-safari-zoo-limited

Given that companies only have to submit a list of shareholders once a year it is possible that shareholders have changed but the general public will not be aware of this until the next Annual Return needs filing in June 2016. There may be a similar regime for charities but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Also, for finding out company information you may wish to try the (free) Companies House beta service which easily provides all the accounts and filed information on companies.

Finally, what are you going to do with all the spare time you gain when (if?) Gill is (finally) gone? :D

Today David Gill is in court due to HASAW Act and the death of Sarah McClay, today the court heard that he is still the owner of the zoo. The council meetings for next week and the subsequent meetings and inspections held, continue to have David Gill as the owner. Furthermore, the council has not awarded the zoo licence onto anyone as of yet as it is still under David Gill's name.

Shareholders and owner has not changed, the advert has been reported for being misleading and giving false information. As for Companies house Beta service, as you will know all information be it from CH or from the majority of company check websites charge the lawful minimum price of £1 for records. Under the Charities Act, the law is greater as paperwork required at various periods of the year. And what will I do if and it is a big if, Gill goes? I like the tongue in cheek musing, my answer is we shall wait and see...;)

As I mentioned previously. Gill still owns and is shareholder of the zoo. Also, court diet of Gill.

The answer is simple. David Gill does as he is told, and the zoo stays open.

I wonder if he will try walking out of the Crown Court if he doesn't get his own way. Providing of course that there is a trial in the first place.

why was he at the meeting, thought he had stepped down from his roles at the zoo

Because the zoo license is still in his name despite his attempts to transfer it (which the council have refused)

It is looking extremely likely that DG will have to step down in order to prevent an impasse in operation of a zoo in Barrow. And not just that, it must be seen that competent and experienced zoo management staff will step in.

What position the "owner" DG will then have with SLWAP/Safari Zoo or its charity wing ... dunno. Certainly, storming out of a meeting with the Committee and the quite substantial zoo inspectorate team reports detailing various flaws in management and operation, is not doing him any favors ....!
