The zoo redesigned their app that once had bought the Zoo and Safari Park maps as well as info in one app. Now have been split into two separate apps, one for the Zoo and for the Safari Park, in the Apple App Store from what I saw.
They are on exhibit at the zoo with the Giraffes in Urban Jungle. They are also on one of the painted signs in the Africa Tram area at the Safari Park and can be seen on the actual ride.I noticed on The Zoo San Diego season 2 in the episode Hog Wild that the the parks Red River Hogs that where in the enclosure near the Somali Wild Asses in the mammal marsh habitat were moved out of that exhibit and the parks Soemmerring’s Gazelles were moved into the former habitat once occupied by the Red River Hogs. Was this species of gazelle on public display before this move at the park?
I would assume they are either off exhibit, somewhere else on the African Savvanah, or in the Okapi exhibit with the other Red River Hogs. And now where are the red river hogs in the safari park are located now?
In the zoo thread you mentioned there were Angolan Colobus on display, was this the same individuals that’s were in the cages near the bear grottos or were they from the island at the safari park that were replaced with hornbills or were they the existing ones that moved in after the gibbons left. Some recent changes from my recent visit, for those interested in visiting soon:
Chacoan Pecarry group present in Nairobi Village. May have been sent over from the Zoo since the group at te Zoo appears smaller than usual.
Construction and signage had gone up already for Butterfly Jungle, should be accessible as of this past Saturday.
Rotation of Striped Hyenas and Lions at Lion Camp isn’t on a set schedule after directly contacting the Safari Park. Was told that you can sometimes see the hyenas early in the mornings at Lion Camp.
Small exhibit outside of Wings of the World aviary that previously housed the Southern Pudu now houses more birds including Storm’s Stork and Red Breasted Goose.
Dual pair of Rhino mom and calf present in East Africa field exhibit.
A couple of Addra Gazelle fawn in Nursery in Nairobi Village.
I am unsure if they are but the hornbills were definitely taking up the island in the Safari Park, although I thought the ones in the Safari Park appeared to be Kikuyu Colobus Monkeys based on my last photos I have prior to their departure. In the zoo thread you mentioned there were Angolan Colobus on display, was this the same individuals that’s were in the cages near the bear grottos or were they from the island at the safari park that were replaced with hornbills or were they the existing ones that moved in after the gibbons left.
