Sometime in AprilDo we have a due date for Takara yet? I could have sworn I'd read February somewhere, but I can't be certain.
Takara has given birth, the last apparent baby Shamu.
And that my friend makes them fundamentalist extremists for which we should have no ear nor a public platform. It stops and starts with continuous engagement of the lame lazy media on the subject if ex situ conservation activities and action v.s. the non argument "animal welfare" idiocy of the converted fundamentalist extremists is to succeed and prevail. These AR groups only see their agenda which is that no animals should be kept in human care regardless of the reason with PETA being one of the worse, they also believe even the humble cat and dog have no place living with humans. What ever facts you can put up in regards to animals being saved from extinction by captive breeding or any other reason carries no weight with them!

This was at the park in San Antonio, Texas, not Orlando. Orlando hasn't had a calf born at the park since 2010 (Makaio). The breeding ban doesn't really affect Orlando as Tilikum wasn't being held near females after the Dawn Brancheau incident, and Trua is related to all of the females except Kayla.
Us SeaWorld fans were actually delighted to hear this. It's wishful thinking but we're hoping for any opportunity to get SeaWorld to back to being SeaWorld.
