Dallas Police now believe the mesh fencing at the clouded leopard exhibit was intentionally cut:

"Dallas Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell, during a news conference Friday afternoon, said the department has opened a criminal investigation after determining the tear in the mesh habitat was not caused by the animal and appears to have been intentionally cut.

Police did not speculate further on who would have cut the habitat or why or what that may mean for the location of the missing cat."

Update on Clouded leopard escape:

Nova has no signs of physical injury and is back with her sister; a police investigation is underway after it was determined the escape was as a result of sabotage to the fence.

From socials:

Clouded leopard Nova spent all day Saturday in the habitat with her sister Luna, with Nova perched up on a high branch while oh-so-many guests stopped by to see her and wish her well.

The veterinary team and Nova's animal care team have all said she shows no signs of physical injury and has settled right back into her routine today.

Fortunately, Nova was spotted on Zoo grounds - only about 100 yards from her habitat - by staff late Friday after. She was starting to emerge from a hunkered-down hiding spot, and staff say a rogue squirrel that was being overly vocal tipped them off to an area to focus their search.

On Friday, the Dallas Police Department opened a criminal investigation into the incident given what we've all determined to be an intentional cut was identified in the habitat's wire mesh.

Thankfully, a second search was not necessary. All of the langurs were still inside their habitat and did not appear to be harmed or in any danger.

Seems like Dallas has had an awfully rough last couple of years. I sincerely hope police figure out soon what’s behind that vultures death and who tore those fence opens in the clouded leopard and langur exhibit.

I don't think it's been mentioned what exactly the injury was. It's under police investigation so the information would be very hush hush for now.
 
Is it possible the vulture could’ve been poached? There was a white rhino that was poached in a zoo a few years ago and I can’t help but wonder if that’s what we’re looking at here too.

It makes sense to poach a rhino for its horn but not sure why someone would poach a vulture?

According to this article it was a wound (with no elaboration):

Pin, an endangered lappet-faced vulture, was found deceased in his enclosure at the Wilds of Africa habitat with an apparent wound.

Zoo officials said the wound makes Pin's death suspicious. Zoo officials declined to go into further details about Pin's injury but reiterated that the bird's death did not appear to be naturally occurring.
