As well, Shedd recently had the male Beluga Beethoven transferred from Georgia Aquarium.

This is a most excellent move for the North American Beluga population! With Beethoven being a proven breeding male, and being completely unrepresented (save for one pregnant female right now), he now has 4 breeding age females to mingle with (and even better, two of them are completely unrepresented as well), and two of the four are proven breeders as well !
 
In 2010 I visited the Shedd. Does it still have the gift shop in the basement (I think) in the cold area near the Pacific white-sided dolphins?
 
How exciting, yet how frustrating. I am attending a summer wildlife care program through a university and in about ten days we are supposed to visit the Shedd. The website says they are off display right now and I can only wonder if they will be available for public viewing when I am there.
 
I'm surprised we haven't heard of any beluga pregnancy. It seems Beethoven would have had time to get the job done by now. ;)
 
2 female lags moved from Miami to Shedd. Hopefully pregnant. They moved late fall, but no announcement was made.
