Why exactly did the zoo phase-out Mexican Wolves for those high pedigree wolf-dogs? Any idea on whether they'll bring Mexicans back? Or maybe Red.

The zoo exhibits two species of wolves. On Wednesday if there was a nobody home sign at the gray wolf exhibit, it should mean that the animal is temporarily off exhibit. If there were wolves on Wednesday there should have been maned wolves in Cheetah Conservation Station. I don’t think the zoos lone gray wolf passed away, she is still mentioned on the zoo website so she may be having health issues. You can email the zoo for more information. When I went on Wednesday there were "nobody home" signs up. The zoos lone gray wolf is 16, so it wouldn't shock me if she was having health issues or possibly have passed away.

Per the Zoo's website: Beginning Sept. 14, 2020, Asia Trail will be closed to visitors for the scheduled repaving of walkways. Construction is expected to last approximately six months, and the following exhibits will be closed: sloth bear, fishing cats, clouded leopards, Asian small-clawed otters, red pandas and giant pandas. Panda fans can continue to see Tian Tian, Mei Xiang and their cub on the Panda Cam.
Also odd that they didnt do this during the months that the zoo was closed. It takes six months to repave a pathway? Goodness. Hopefully they will reopen these throughout because that's a really long time. Do you think they would have closed off this entire section if Covid wasn't going on? I honestly doubt it. Seems very odd to me.

The only update I saw was last year, when I noticed they idiot-proofed the cheetah and wolf habitats by filling in the moats in the former and putting up obstructive chain-link for both.Any updates on the status of the grey wolf exhibit? In a previous post it was mentioned that there were nobody home signs up, are the nobody home signs still there?
