It is with the deepest regret that we must announce a very sad day at Paradise Wildlife Park. Sadly Indy, our tiger and Aron, our Snow leopard both passed away. Indy, who has been at the park for 16 years was taken very ill over the last 24 hours. She was anaesthetised so that a medical check could be carried out, and during that examination a severe tumour was discovered. In the best interests of Indy's comfort, she was never brought out of the anaesthesia. Aron had developed a complicated swelling on his rear leg that was beginning to restrict his movement. Despite expert, specialist attention, we were unable to reverse the swelling. Also in the best interests of his comfort, he was sadly put to sleep. Our thoughts are with the animal park team at this time who are devastated by these events.
A sad day for PWP...

Fifteen Black-footed Penguins die at Paradise Wildlife Park after contracting Avian malaria and Aspergillosis disease
sounds like some more zoos may be hit as well as london and paradise
Other news, there has been a very exciting, yet I'm sure controversial birth amongst this forum. A female White Lion was born on 26th January, you could see the cub through the windows in the doors. Appeared to be doing very well, I shall now wait and watch the expected discussion begin.
Visited today, 17/02/2013, was very surprised to see a pair Raccoon Dogs in the enclosure next to the Squirrel Monkeys. I am unfortunately un-aware of the sex, and where they arrived from, but was quite excited to see them as this was a personal first.

That is indeed the avairy they are in. I believe it has also held foxes for a short time, certainly on of those enclosures that seems to have a new species every time I visit. It is adequate for the time being, they were asleep for the whole day, so couldn't really compare the size of the species to the size of the enclosure, but I'm hoping this will only be temporary, because it did appear considerably too small long term.I think they are in the avairy which is an unusual one, it once held blue and gold macaws, then 2 male skunks and now the raccoon dogs. How did you feel about the size of it? If it's the one I'm thinking of it's circular and not the largest enclosure for them.
