New South America building opened, called Viktoria House and home to Giant anteaters and Tapirs.
Sosto also recieved a Sumatran tiger and now has 4 Tiger-"forms" : Siberian, White, Malayan and Sumatran !

The elephant calf which was born on Midsummer /St John´s day last week is a male and is the first African elephant calf in Europe for this year.
The lucky parents are Kwanza (B. Borås, SWE 2001) and Jack (B. Kruger National park, ZAF 1992). Kwanza was also the first elephant to be born i Sweden.
Borås Djurpark has uploaded some pictures of Kwanza and the little calf, on their website with pictures from Hungary.

Zoo Sosto recieved the male Polar bear Fiete from Zoo Rostock - Germany. In the near furure also a young female from Moscow Zoo is expected.

The Sóstó zoo has big plans: they want to build an India house. In this building will be big sharks and striped hyenas. Indian rhinos will also move here.

Marabu and falmingos will be together in one aviary, or will they be separated from each other?
