South Lakes Wild Animal Park South Lakes / Safari Zoo Closure

the tigers went a month a go so they have had long enough to announce their arrival at the new place

Do we know if the giraffe have left yet or have a date for moving?

Is there any updates on where the snow leopard or red pandas have gone? I'd love to be able to visit them again
I don't think it's been said anywhere which soecific zoos the snow leopard and red pandas have gone to, I had a quick look through this thread abd couldn't find any info. All that's been said as far as I can see is the red pandas have been sent to another British zoo, while the snow leopard and tigers have gone somewhere outside of Britain.

Seems weird to me for the Giraffes to be sitting up when that subspecies isn’t found anywhere else in the UK
But that's kind of the problem. No one to trade them with if they breed/need moving on.
Plus the sheer difficulty of moving giraffes....

I’d love to see them go to Bristol but they’ve got there 2 males currently so they would have to find a home for them

I’m not sure, but I also believe that Bristol is aiming on keeping a bachelor group for now. One can always hope though…

The male is due to stay in the UK apparently(location unknown atm) plus he's related to the 3 females and with so many surplus giraffes currently in the country(mainly Rothschilds) who would have the space for a new breeding herd of Kodorfons?
Shame to see a rarely seen species leave the UK but maybe for the best

The two red pandas moved to Cassiobury farm and fishery in Hertfordshire.
Looking at their website, it seems like a nice little place, and I'm sure the red pandas will be very happy there. Though I do find it odd that they refer to their raccoon dogs as just "raccoons".

Their website really isn't accurate or up to date with the species they have. They have both raccoons and raccoon dogs, but they seem to have got the pictures muddled on the website.

With no income left that i can see apart from selling catering equipnent. How are bills stills being paid? Do the council pay them?

Has the Facebook page vanished for anyone else? Lots of animals yet to be rehomed (as far as I know) so not sure how this will be communicated unless these are the animals that ZIC owns?

Yep, looks to have been deleted as a page - suspected this a few weeks ago. A shame really as like you say, not much communication regarding the remaining animals, unless a receiving zoo post their arrival.

I haven't been able to find the Facebook page for quite a while now. They weren't really communicating much about the animals departures anyway - they were saying which ones went but not where they went to.
