We are thrilled to further our commitment to clean energy and sustainability by constructing and installing a solar array in the Stone Zoo parking lot. As an organization deeply committed to conservation, this projects directly aligns with our mission.
Zoo New England’s Stone Zoo received $3 million in funding from the state to construct this solar canopy, which will reduce 95% of Stone Zoo’s reliance on electrical energy powered by fossil fuels.
zoo have new female lynx named 'yoshi'
I don't know if it's "normal," as in a regular practice, but I did see it this past winter. Several zookeepers were in the enclosure. The wolves kept their distance while the zookeepers did their work, but it made the wolves very attentive and active.3. Now this last update isn’t really news, but is it normal for the zookeepers to go into the Mexican Gray Wolf exhibit while the wolves are in the exhibit..? At first I noticed the keepers just cleaning/scattering food around but then all of a sudden the wolves started to run around and I was pretty confused a long with the rest of the guests.
animal staff told me when asked why take pictures of this particular lynx.Where was this information posted?
It's not uncommon for keepers to share exhibit space with grey wolves, red wolves, maned wolves... pretty much every large canid except African wild dog (I've had one zoo tell me that they tried that, and immediately decided against it again).I don't know if it's "normal," as in a regular practice, but I did see it this past winter. Most European zoos I know allow keepers to go into wolf enclosures while animals are in. So this is normal.3. I remember seeing them on exhibit together. I want visiting as frequently back then, so I can't say if it was a regular occurrence, but I did see it.Were Chessie and Seymour the jaguars often on exhibit together before her passing? I want to know if the guideline for tigers (that adults usually shouldn't be exhibited together) is also for jaguars.
