Superbowl Prediction

Ravens and 49ers - I'm going Ravens. Not a huge NFL fan (college football for me) but the Ravens General manager is Alabama Alum Ozzie Newsome. Also the Ravens have two former Bama players that play for them as well - Terrence Cody and Courtney Upshaw.

BTW I grilled out today because it was first pretty day in a week and heck its the Super Bowl.

My menu - Bison Ribeyes, Conecuh Sausage, Roasted Red Potatoes, Grilled Asparagus, Grilled Onions Peppers and Mushrooms, and my mom did the dessert I think its Dirt cake.

What cities are those teams from?

I am pretty sure I heard on our news that the coaches of the teams are brothers, and that the third brother is an accountant! :D Is that true?

That meal sounds really tasty. Post a photo of the spread.

San Francisco and Baltimore. The game starts in 5 minutes! I'm going for the 49ers even though I wanted the Falcons to go through.

I can't stand both teams and both coaches are ***holes. The Ravens are the Bengals's secondary rival while the 49ers beat them in both of the Bengals's only two Super Bowl appearances. So my support goes to the 9ers even though the Ravens will easily take this. Plus I'm not a fan of a team having a murderer part of it.

What?

@nanoboy- The coaches are brothers.

What a fascinating story! Two brothers coaching opposing teams in an east-coast-west-coast showdown! Has this ever happened before?

And a murderer on the team too? Hollywood couldn't make this up! :D

So how long will this game last?

The best part of the superbowl for me is watching the commercials online the day after. You should see a few cool movie previews being advertised - like The Lone Ranger and Fast and Furious 6.

I love the commercials!! The Manning twins both are quarterbacks in the NFL but I don't know if they ever have faced each other in the Superbowl.

What's cool is that in the last 3 years two teams (Giants and Patriots) have ended up in the Superbowl twice and the Giants (my team!:D) have won both times with the games going pretty much the same way.

big time coaching is a cross country thing.

All good coaches tend to be *******s, I can be one when I want to be and Im just a decent coach haha

They don't have to be Football coaches either. My friend's dad onced coached a basketball team I was on and he did nothing but scream and yell and complemented us mabye two or three times during the season. Outside of the court, he's the coolest guy and I love hanging out at their house!

OK guys, so I'm watching the SuperBowl. I can tell from the scoreline that the Ravens are winning (no prizes for that) but otherwise I'm really struggling to get a feel for how the game's going. American football always seems really stop-start and fragmented compared to our own version (which I also don't really follow).

For those who know this sport better, are the 49ers already sunk? How's it looking?

Not if they step up and start playing better. There's still time for them and they really only need two touchdowns (which is all the Ravens have gotten) to get a point ahead (and that's without getting the 2 field goals, if they do then they get an additional 2 points total).

Thanks Thylo. BBC coverage ends only 5 hours before I'm due at work so not sure I'll make the end but I'm 'officially' supporting the 49ers (simply because I've been to San Francisco and I've not been to Baltimore) so just wanted to see if I could nip off to bed early. :D

I still don't quite understand where all these gaps in play are coming from - I guess this is no more than normal?
