After the death, the exhibit turned out to be Malayan porcupine (Hystrix brachyura), the individual was living in the backyard. The last crab-eating mongoose of Taipei Zoo passed away recently.
Nice little video on the new tigers! And: Any information on whether and when they will acquire males for breeding?Taipei officially shows Malayan tigers today.
As the future plan of Taipei, Taipei will transfer 1 female to Singapore, and Singapore will transfer 1 male to Taipei, then 2 breeding pairs are settled (of course they need to negotiate further).Taipei officially shows Malayan tigers today.
