An new enclosure in the Safari Journey housed an baby orangutan, adjacent to the white-bellied sea eagle exhibit. It baffles me on how they get that idea. The exhibit it self aren't big for one adult orangutan (The baby's mother isn't there). It's probably there as mere "awww attraction" for visitors when there's already four other larger orangutan exhibits, three of which also have babies in it. I wish when the baby has grown up, they've used it for something else, like for smaller mammals.Taman Safari Bogor has put most of their European bisons on free-range, still under the supervision of the guards to avoid incidents. Their enclousure still have two or three bisons, probably the ones that aren't too friendly toward cars.

An unexpected addition to the park, an Guianan squirrel monkey, is displayed in an chain-link exhibit in the Australian Outback. There's only one monkey, despite being an social species, and there's no signage of the animal, so I'm guessing it's temporarily and will be replaced with the cotton-top tamarins from Jakarta Aquarium. Two young saltwater crocodiles is displayed together with Asian forest tortoises, it worked probably until the tortoises become fit in their mouth.

Some updates also occured in the Reptile Tunnel. Two new reptiles is displayed, such as the Burmese python and the yet to be classified Irian Jaya blue-tongued skink, although the Merauke blue-tongued skink and green tree monitor has been taken off display. The aquarium is apparently empty, the pirarucu, turtles, and other large fish has been taken off display. The staffs at Jakarta Aquarium could probably even listened to @Fargusno's suggestion on sending some of their freshwater fish to Bogor, who knows.

In the Nocturnal House, an barn owl is replaced by, not one, but two buffy fish owls. I'm ok with owls in indoor exhibit and I even liked the concept, but the exhibit in the Nocturnal House isn't big and spacious for one barn owl, let alone two buffy fish owls. The red giant flying squirrel, an species rarely displayed in Indonesian zoos, has been taken off display and replaced with an even rarer, hard to find, and the world's most elusive, hedgehogs. I honestly don't want to rant anymore, the only thing I want to say is that atleast they're probably not in the Kampung Papua anymore.

1. Free-range bisons? Sounds like a bad idea knowing that they can get provoked easily and their rams can damage cars. For the baby orangutan exhibit... meh
2. I think TSI needs more Guianan squirrel monkeys, but at least give them an exhibit in the primate area once the tamarins from JAQS arrives. As for the crocodiles, where are they?
3. I think the reptile tunnel is going through a downgrade than an upgrade IMO, with those mutant snakes being added in place of their original inhabitants. As for the aquarium, I hope some fishes from JAQS ends up there, since I saw in Jamm Vlog's video, there's only one silver arowana in the waterfall basin exhibit. Probably moved to Taman Safari since they almost outgrew their tank. Worth noting that they should move the larger gars from JAQS to TSI since they've almost outgrew their tank and may harm kids with their bites, as well as the surplus cyprinids (tinfoil barbs and hampalas) that caused their exhibit (which shared with the gourami and peacock basses) to be overstocked.
4. I think the barn owl in Nocturnal House could be the same one in JAQS but I dunno.. But removing the red giant flying squirrel and replacing it with hedgehogs is an ass decision.

They're in their exhibit outside the Reptile Tunnel and I don't think it will change anytime soon

True, Taman Safari Indonesia is great at breeding native species like the elephants, tigers, orangutans, and banteng as well as rare foreign species like jaguars, rhinos, pygmy hippos, and even takins, but they're very bad in choices of animals to be displayed or replaced.

Taman Safari Bogor with PSSEJ ("Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa" or Javan-hawk Eagle Wildlife Sanctuary Center) has began preparation for the release of two Javan hawk-eagles, named Jelita and Parama, into the wild.

The pair have gone through behavioral monitoring by team, while a habituation cage has been built in the intended release site for the pair to to adapt with the weather and surrounding.

I've been bamboozled by Taman Safari Bogor themself. Turns out, the masked lapwing is actually displayed in Baby Zoo's Bali myna aviary. Several wandering whistling ducks has been added as well.
 
Taman Safari Bogor has built an new exhibit for white lions in the Safari Journey.

I'm glad that the white lions are finally going to be moved from their small exhibit in Baby Zoo and into Safari Journey, but why is the exhibit like that? Not only that it is quite small, but also plain. I really hope that by the next few weeks, some rock platform for the lions to sleep and do other stuff, as well as other enrichment and signage of the lions are added to the exhibit.

Apparently, the white lions was replaced by an Sumatran tiger, while an North Sumatran bolon house-themed decoration has been added to the exhibit.

It safe to say that it going to house Sumatran tigers for a while, the exhibit is persumably going to be used as a separate exhibit that houses aggresive big cats (Which was present in the zones of African lions, Bengal tigers, and Sumatran tigers in Safari Journey), despite the fact that there's already an separate exhibit for tigers that are unfriendly toward cars in the Sumatran tiger zone. While the white lions remain in their miserable exhibit in Baby Zoo for another year.

The Safari Journey of Taman Safari Bogor has recently seen some stupid decisions, namely a baby Sumatran orangutan exhibit and now a separate Sumatran tiger exhibit. No idea what's going on in their minds.
 
The Sunda porcupine exhibit at Baby Zoo has been demolished to make ways for a new exhibit for a pair of hairy-nosed otters. This made Baby Zoo having two species of otters.

While I'm happy that they got a new local small mammal species and also celebrating to the fact that Taman Safari Bogor (Unitentionaly) prevented Lembang Park and Zoo for being the only zoo in Indonesia to have this otter species, I'm not a fan of the exhibit design and I'm giving it the score 6/10. It looks like as if it was originally intended for penguins because of the color of the pool. Since this is still new, I really hope that it will eventually get a more natural rainforest setting, like the otter exhibit in Jakarta Aquarium (Uncommon JAQ w).

BRAVO TAMAN SAFARI!!
The water could use some green though, to make it more natural. Or just replace the paint with natural rock flooring. Here's hoping they'll breed in the future, and also hoping someday LPZ gets a mate for their hairy-nosed otter.

Still, only Ragunan that houses Smooth-coated otters but they're off-display.

After some comparison and seeing some posts on the internet, these "lutra sumatrana" might be a (Possible intentionally) misidentified smooth-coated otters, which makes Lembang Park and Zoo sadly the only zoo in Indonesia to kept one.

On a positive note, the Indian peafowl at Panda Palace is now free-roamer, near the camel and pony ride.
