A question about Taxon Advisory Groups, when you read about the animals that are being focused on for breeding, does that mean those are the ONLY animals from that taxa that are going to be found in AZA-accredited zoos?
What I meant was when looking at the Taxon Advisory Groups it shows several species in zoos. For example, if you look at the Antelope TAG it has several pages with different species of antelope such as bongos, blackbuck, and pronghorn but it doesn't show species like chinkara. Does that mean there are NO chinkara in ANY US zoos? I would have checked ISIS but it seems that not everyone can just peruse their site.
if the species is not mentioned on the TAG document, and you can't find a record of the species online (e.g. ISIS, ZooChat, etc) then there probably aren't any.
Not so at all.
