Don't know if this is already known, but the plans should go before the council for a decision late autumn according to there twitter account

At least one description has mentioned both salties and Tomistoma, I'm sure - so it's wait and see for the moment (but fingers crossed for both! :D ).

I'm hoping it's more visible than the one at Paignton! ;)

Haha - considering you didn't even know they had the species, I doubt missing it will tear you up too badly ;) especially if you're a semi-regular visitor anyway!

(Which reminds me of a question I meant to ask you - has the false gharial at Paignton replaced one of the other crocodilian species there, or is it in addition? If the latter, this is even better as unless they have gone out of some species I'll be getting 3 croc ticks there!)

I've just read in another journal's report on the Internet that the new development will include 'saltwater Sulawesi macaques' so I am really looking forward to seeing these!!

If they existed they'd certainly be more interesting than standard Sulawesi macaques, which are becoming the meerkats of the macaque world ;)

You say semi-regular, I say every three years which isn't regular enough for my liking... :p
Have PM'd you as to try and keep the thread on topic! :D

Certainly if it is only to be one or the other then that's the way I'd hope they'd go.

Good to see some work has definitely started on the site, they have stripped down trees and bushes and looks like cleared any ponds and ditches

The Planners BBC2 Thrusday 7th March at 8pm.

The Planners includes Cheshire West and Chester Council planning department debating the zoo's £30 million development.

The outcome is already known but it may give people unfamiliar with Islands an idea of where it will be.

You have a show called The Planners specifically about council planning? I really have heard it all now.

They have shows about just about every subject under the sun on UK television nowadays- anything to fill all the slots.

I understand it's quite good - not managed to catch up with one yet.

But perhaps I'm a bit biased having done 26 years as a councillor!

:)

If you really wanted to you could watch all of the chester council planning council meetings as they are streamed live over the internet and then available to watch afterwards - you could potentially have your 5 minutes of fame by attending one of these meetings and asking a question and all verbal communication is tagged by the individuals name :O)
They don't look like they will rival prime time TV any time soon though!!
