The 'dromedaries' at West Midlands are actually hybrids.
There are 5.3 Dromedaries at Heythrop (2 of the males are entire). These consist of 2.2 originally imported from the Netherlands about 6 years ago and their four offspring. This may still be the only breeding herd in the UK.
In the past three or four years several private keepers have imported Dromedaries from the continent, Joseph Fossett and Martin Lacey being two examples, for camel trecking, riding and racing.
I've no reason to doubt that there are now animals with breeding potential in the UK other than Heythrop's.
