The US population originates from Java, but I’m not sure what subspecies they’d be. I know the species isn’t supposed to be found there (at least from the searching I did), but my information is directly from the importer.

Java is a hub for the international animal trade so an import from there means little other than that they are probably of Indonesian origin.

Old World Leaf-nosed Bats or Roundleaf Bats

About ninety species in nine genera: Anthops, Asellia, Aselliscus, Cloeotis, Coelops, Doryrhina, Hipposideros, Macronycteris, Paratriaenops, Rhinonicteris, Triaenops


The family may alternatively be split in two - Hipposideridae with the genera Anthops, Asellia, Aselliscus, Coelops, Doryrhina, Hipposideros, and Macronycteris; and Rhinonycteridae with the genera Cloeotis, Paratriaenops, Rhinonicteris, and Triaenops


There are only eight species represented in the Zoochat galleries, from the genera Hipposideros, Macronycteris, and Triaenops.

Hipposideros

The last two families were little more than naked lists, which I didn't really want to type out and format but there it is. I hope you liked those photo-less lists because there will be a lot more of them as I get into the microchiropteran families of Yangochiroptera...

May as well. I doubt we'll be getting many photos of live Horsehoe Bat species.
 
The "E. wahlbergi" kept at Plzen were just misidentified gambianus, ztl reflects this. To my knowledge true wahlbergi have never been held in zoos.
