Things people do that irritate you when you go to the zoo?

Don't no now this ***** got around the back side of the exhibit at the now closed Catskill Game Farm. Some time people amazed me.

When I was at the Milwaukee County Zoo there was kid about 7 years old see the tapir and say " Look an anteater". The sign for the tapir says NOT AN ANTEATER.
 
this will make you laugh , i keep dwarf zebu cattle and as most will no they have a hump and big horns and i have been asked by 2 people are they camels ? i do reply have you ever seen a camel with horns ,
 
One of the Paignton's silverbacks was outside the house while the other gorillas were inside. A father announces to his family: 'That's a gorilla. The apes are indoors.'
 
Toledo zoo 5-19-2012: Opening of Tembo Trail. Mother changing her kids diaper on the lawn right outside the reptile building. Really??? 20 feet from a bathroom.

At Beardsley Zoo in May, there was a sign at the Andean Bear exhibit that explained how the Andean Bear was moved to another zoo. A man with two little girls told his girls "C'mon look harder, he has to be in here somewhere!"
At Roger Williams Park Zoo:
This family looked at the Babirusa, who was quite active and walking around with straw on her head, and a little girl said "Hey it's going to lay down!" It didn't lay down, but I guess they wouldn't know since they looked at the animal for literally less than 5 seconds.
A boy also almost proceeded to place his candy bar wrapper in the Giant Anteater exhibit just because he was too lazy to go to a trash can, but luckily his mom said "Oh no you don't!", and made me think there were at least some responsible parents at a zoo.
 
It never ceases to amaze, and sadden, me that the majority of visitors spend so little time looking into each exhibit. Most families arrive at the exhibit, clock what's in there, and then move swiftly on to the next enclosure without bothering to observe the animal for more than a few seconds. But whenever I visit even a medium-sized zoo, I struggle to see everything in the time.
 
A worker by Cat Canyon was telling kids that Malayan tigers had the largest canines in the world. People constantly yell at Suci, the Sumatran rhino, to get out of the mud and move around.
 
Parent: Are those flamingos? No they can't be, they're not pink at all.

I think I accidentally laughed too hard when I was walking by.
 
On a recent trip to the Toledo Zoo we overheard a parent explaining to her child about how camels have been known to spit when they are irritated.The child then asked "Can I spit ?" The parent responds "Yes as long as you spit in the water" :eek: Which was located in the animals exhibit.People continue to amaze us.

Yesterday, I saw a father standing while his young, perhaps 4 or 5 year old, son, sat on top of the Chacoan Peccary boardwalk.:eek: I bet the father wouldn't let him if he saw the size of the teeth on those things...
 
This time I am the one that might irritate or confuse the guests. I sometimes like to tease them even though it isn't really on purpose. What I will do is take a picture of an exhibit with no animal visible in it, while being next to a guest, and once I leave then that person will try their best to look for the "animal" I was "trying" to take a picture of.
 
I saw this on Facebook that a radio station posted about the Bengals and wanted to share this.

Looking at this video again, I saw that somebody commented "I work at this zoo", and yet didn't complain about what the girl did, and instead complimented the video!:eek: Makes me wonder how she got her job at this zoo...
On another note, I'd like to see if the girl would be so confident if she was in the crane enclosure. I heard from a worker there that the cranes are one of the most dangerous animals in the zoo, and keepers have to keep watch out for them, or they'll get a beak in the eye.
