The Galah was returned to the zoo about six weeks ago, or more. It used to be on display with various others including Major Mitchell's cockatoo. I wish they would bring that species back also.
Went to the zoo today. Surprising to see virtually no one else there. I walked around for hours without seeing a single person. Felt weird. Also realized that most people bypass the Eurasia Wilds, almost not realizing it's open.
Tiga was out in the open today, Keeper said she's getting a little more comfortable with the new exhibit and visitors. They're hoping she'll continue to stay out of hiding in the enclosure.
There are 2 Bettongs in the exhibit with the Wallabies and Wombats. Father and Son. They've taken residence in opposite ends of the enclosure. Mother and new Joey (Born September) are still off exhibit, and Keepers are looking into birth control, as they don't want anymore Bettongs due to lack of space to house them.
Keeper also said there are 2 Lionfish in Quarantine. They'll be there for another 2 weeks at least, maybe longer.
Cypher will Eurasia Wilds, going to be open everyday now?
Noticed an Owl statue in the outdoor Beaver exhibit. I figure there’s a reason for it being there, just not sure what that reason is.
A lot of time fake owl statues will be used to keep away animals that can become a nuisance such as rabbits, chipmunks, and squirrels.
