The crabs are comming!

Woozle the hyena has a tumor and they have been treating it.

The arctic foxes are on display in the domain!

:( I hope Woozle will be ok

Where are the arctic foxes located in the domain?

Great to hear about the crabs!

No the foxes are in the domain in the old wolf exhibit, the exhibit in the Tundra has had water pipes breaking.

Breeding of the polar bears and porcupines have been happening recently!

So that's probably why that exhibit hasn't been opened yet! Makes sense with all the cold weather we've been having. I'll make sure to visit next time.

Great to hear about the porcupine/polar bear breeding! Here's hoping that there will be successful pregnancies.

The Eurasia, Canadian Wilderness, and Panda Plan will be going through a detailed design sometime this year!

Toronto Zoo is now the #1 zoo in North America for the cellphone recycling program! That's another thing we do that the haters/antis don't do :D

I was just on Flickr and now they have a free-ranging frogmouth in the Australasia pavillion! I'm definately going to look for him/her on my next visit. I couldn't get a good photo of them in their old enclosure because of the darkness.

The Toronto Zoo has had Tawny Frogmouths for years, they are not a new species however very hard to find and to be out in the open is great!

Yep, I haven't seen them since the Edge of Night was still open. They sometimes do this thing where they perch with their neck stretched out, and they really do look like a piece of wood when they do that, so I could be walking past them all the time :P

Wow, I just looked them up. They look like a really cool bird. The next time I am down there I will need to keep an eye out for them.

Toronto Zoo just released a bunch of YouTube videos! Here's my favorite:

More proof against the haters, I say. How many (insert anti group here) have had a hand in bringing up the numbers of Vancouver Island Marmots?

I love how I have helped out with so many of those endangered species on the first line! (Hands on)

What a well done video! Wow, left the National Zoo for out zoo? Impressive very impressive!

And yes Meaghan, I agree proof against haters! THAT is WHY the Toronto Zoo is considered one of the BEST zoos in the world! What other zoo does anything like them none, with the education and conservation program numbers in the thousands! Proof that it is a great zoo!

Hey guys;

Was at the zoo the other day (Saturday) and they had moved the Casqued Hornbill that is on regular display (not Aasha) in the Indo Pavillion to the nesting/roosting room in the back of the Malayan woods pavillion.

The Wrinkled Hornbills (2) are still in the regular exhibit.

Does anyone one know if this is a permanent move? Perhaps, as they moved the Peking Robins that were in the nesting room as well to a new location.

Possible breeding? I don't think we have 1.1 though?

Hey Zoogoer;

I wasn't sure either but I do know for sure that:

1) Its not Aasha in the nesting room (due to the eyes)
2) There were two wrinkled hornbills in the old exhibit for sure

I thought the same thing about the breeding, but they have moved all the other birds in the nesting room to new locations.

The peking robins are now in the exhibit that was reserved for plants, attached to the conservation centre, across from entrance to the Indo-Malayan Pavillion

would they create a whole new exhibit for the robins just for the time being? Maybe it is breeding and something totally new will be moving into the nesting room?
