Recently, the zoo’s 22-year old lioness Shatari passed away from an age-related decline in health. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living lioness in an AZA zoo.

I believe he is and is all most likely due to their next capital campaign: African Wilds. They posted about after his departure along with a link to the campaign. Zuri (0.1) is a 12-year old female chimpanzee who is pregnant with the father believed to be Bernsen or Enloe. The Zoo expects the infant to be born in late spring.
