I visited yesterday and was impressed by what I saw going on:
- Giant tortoise enclosure extension was looking very near to completion, with workmen beavering away on it all day.
- leopard enclosure looks great, been opened up well, but with a section in middle kept with a door presumably so the cats can be separated/put together as they need.
- wooden entrance up at the lemur walk through area.
- fencing started on the langur area. This appears to be an extension behind the current (boyband) langur area, and will cleverly use the lawn area between that enclosure and the orang area.
- new siamang enclosure open. Very impressed with it too. It is Danny and Tommy chimps old home and they've done a cracking job revamping it for the siamangs. It houses the family with the new baby and their juvenile. They were having a brilliant time, very relaxed indeed, all making full use of the equipment.
- baby gorilla looking very well, very alert and looking around from its vantage point of ozala s handbag.
