Have Nandi and Sudan been introduced? Also, if Nandi is going outside it must be a Christmas miracle!!!
No they haven't, she is on occasionally

What is the point, bull Sudan is but a wee juvenile and no match for an adult cow ready to breed.
@Kifaru Bwana my apologies if I came across as forceful or Confusing, but I did not mean to cause any offence. From your short quip that may to you have sounded humorous, I did find it was rather taking the piss out of a serious matter open for discussion and for others interested in the subject on this forum. Even just re-reading your comment again, I cannot discern at face value from the transcription what you actually meant by "practice .... get my your drift" and how one was supposed to take it its content nor meaning.
Please be aware as such you can take a comment like that in quite a number of ways (as you also do not quite know the poster nor can see his/her expressions when reading it.
If on the other hand you would have put in a response first time round with a more measured response and tone as per your second paragraph in response, it would certainly made all the difference and I could have appreciated your contribution so much more.
All the same, thanks for clarifying your position more clearly on the 2nd go and I apologise for taking it perhaps the wrong way. I would appreciate that you may be more specific and clear about your postings in future, so we can stay all level on things.
@bintarong, thanks for your valuable info on the considerations for TWZ to take in the rather juvenile Sudan. This certainly makes a lot more sense to me.
Can you divulge what relationship TWZ wishes for with Leipzig Zoo though and how this is important to TWZ's future as both are already in EAZA and participating in EEP's?
(Also for a long time at least the Leipzig Zoo director has been a senior executive figure within EAZA and WAZA for some time now)
Last time I visited there was a Javan langur in the former guenon exhibit near the small monkey/marmoset house that seems to never open, not sure if this is still the case though.I may be going back a while, but does anyone know what happened to the sole Javan Languar, the orange one? I believe he was called Hamish? He used to live with his brother, the blue one in the Primate House on the left as you walk in?
Thanks for that! I will have a look next time I am there. To be honest, I always spend the time with the Great Apes and then ask myself these things afterLast time I visited there was a Javan langur in the former guenon exhibit near the small monkey/marmoset house that seems to never open, not sure if this is still the case though.
I was there in the summer and I’m quite sure I saw him, I could be wrong as it’s a species I’m not too familiar on but I distinctly remember seeing what looked to be one sitting at a small, high window of the building, I recall as I was quite surprised as it didn’t seem to be a guest window as it was very dark and quite high up, I’ve just googled the Javan langur and I must say it did look like one thinking back.I may be going back a while, but does anyone know what happened to the sole Javan Languar, the orange one? I thought there was no intention of them breeding and they were just holding them to prove their facilities were adequate for a future pair.I wondered if anyone would know if the EEP would allow the reproduction between the two as they are cousins and jahly's past inbreeding(crossed eyes show this)
It’s good that he’s doing this and that the facility is suitable but surely they can’t allow breeding between these two.I can happily confirm that sialaing (Sumartan tiger male) is now making mating calls to jahly. The introductions are going amazingly and both animals are calm.
