After a break of more then a year I visited Avifauna yesterday and here some notes and observations from this visit :
- In the 4th section of the Tropical Hall - the one with aviaries - a Magpie shrike is on display, a species for which Avifauna is not mentioned on Zootierliste ( photo see

- In the 3th section of the Tropical Hall ( the "African"part ) I discovered at least 1 Emerald starling. Its mentioned already on Zootierliste but had never seen it myself during my previous visits ( photo see

- In the row of Hornbill-aviaries near the big lake I saw a pair of Crestless fireback pheasants. They were not signed and I had not seen them on previous visits ( photos see

- Silvery-cheeked hornbill female was sealed into the nest-barrel and was fed by the male several times ( photo see

- Southern Sulawesi hornbill female also sealed into the nestbox and could clearly heared ( photo see

- In the Pantanal-section of the Tropical Hall a small group of Green-cheeked conures found a new home ( see

- Also was not able to find any hummingbirds anymore

- In the small "between"section between the Philippine and Pantanal-sections of the Tropical Hall a female Palawan peacock pheasant was taking care of her single chick ( see

- In one of the indoor-enclosures of Nuboso a Crested seriema was on the nest ( see

- The small house which was first used as some kind of museum has been changed into a Kiwi-raising house. Didn't see the chick(s? ) myself but on a monitor small movies of this special breeding are shown ( see

- In the Pantanal-section of the Tropical Hall 2 small unsigned turtles found a new home, the first reptiles I've seen at Avifauna ( see

- In Nuboso a new unidentified finch / weaver-like bird ( see

- In the Africa-section of the Tropical House a new unidentified robin / redstart like bird ( see

- European crane sat on the nest ( see

- Afther a longer break the Great blue touracos had raised a chick again. Saw both parents and the about 5 weeks old young.
