In Pairi Daiza Walrus Tania is pregnant. The calf is expected in the coming birthing season. The calf was conceived while she was still living in Hamburg, so the father is Odin. This is the first walrus calf for Tania and Pairi Daiza.

Yep, it's devastating. He was only eight.Ouch, he only returned there as of Dec/Jan this year.
I've been following this request since December 2019 and as far as I've seen a notice of approval has never been publically posted. The Marine Mammal Commission recommended that the permit be approved, but they have filed complaints at least twice since that the US Fish and Wildlife Service has never responded within the timeline that they were expected to have done so. The walrus in question, Lilou, is currently still housed at Kamogawa.I remember SeaWorld San Diego last year applied for a permit to import one female captive-born walrus from Kamogawa Sea World Japan. Was the permit granted and are they still waiting to import the walrus?
