A couple more videos of the new snow leopard enclosure (aka The Silk Road Project)...
WMZ seem to be the only UK zoo now who breed chimps on anything like a regular basis. They've announced this morning the arrival of the baby chimpanzee and that she's been named Dalasi
"Let us introduce the newest member of our Chimpanzee family - a baby girl, Dalasi. She was born just weeks ago to Mum, Tuppence and Dad, Sixpence."
Is it a breeding enclosure ? If so then they'll need to move on the current pair because aren't they to old to breed ?A couple more videos of the new snow leopard enclosure (aka The Silk Road Project)...

I'm glad that she got to spend her last year or so in a much better enclosure but that's so sad to hear. I did the feed experience with her and her son a few years back, she was beautiful and had such a lovely temperament![]()
Her partner. Their last cubs were Jessie and Tom. Jessie moved to Paradise Wildlife Park and is the star of many of their videos. Tom moved overseas but I can't recall where. So is the male(Sechzuan?) her partner or son?
They had a set of twins a few years previous but both passed away at a young age. Were Tom & Jessie the only cubs of these pair? Thanks for the answers @catfan
No date given, this was the bulletin: We are sad to report the death, after a very short illness, of our old female snow leopard ‘Otilia’. She was sixteen years old, which was a good age for the species. As we knew that both our snow leopards were now elderly (the male Szechuan is also sixteen) we had already made inquiries to the co-ordinator for the breeding programme to see if young animals are available from other zoos. We have identified a young male in the UK and a young female in France and we are now waiting for the final arrangements to be completed. They had their first litter in 2009 and the two cubs both died of an infection in the same year. Their second litter, Tom and Jessie, were born 28 April 2014. Jessie was moved to Paradise Wildlife Park in November 2015. The last information I have is that Tom, named in honour of Sir Tom Jones, was sent to Norden's Ark, Sweden in June 2017 and was renamed 'Arataan'.
Do any regular visitors know when Otilia passed away?
