Thank-you. The Newquay Zoo ruler was nice and handy, in the dining table drawer.

I take it the other remaining Barbary Sheep all died off ?
While I was there, the camels were cannily standing almost 90 degrees to either side of the viewing platform. Obviously they've heard the reviews.
I take it the other remaining Barbary Sheep all died off ?
".......five go-old rings, four Caucasian Tur, three Barbary Sheep, two Takin Bros, and ........"
Shame if they are getting the boot, or rather the hoof!
Though I suppose they could then concentrate on the Tur, if that is the plan ?
(When I get time, I will find that photo of the "other" Barbary Sheep enclosure I was also talking about from past years , which probably led to some confusion.)![]()
Here it is at last, I am not going mad! Dated 1994.
Wasn't it down below where the Farm is now?
Looking at a map it was where Jungle Fun is now, underneath the Education Centre and opposite the present rhino house.
I'm very glad I stumbled on this thread as, stuck here in Jordan at the moment, I'm working on a cunning plan to get out by the end of September and then do a zoo trip across the south of England, i.e., from Canterbury to Bristol. I have collated a list of all the zoos/wildlife parks in this part of England and, as obviously I can't visit them all, I was going through the list deleting those that I don't think I will want to visit. So thanks Shorts for your reviews in your OP as that has helped me greatly in deciding what to visit in SW England.
Thanks for the information. My memories of the zoo prior to the big redevelopment are a bit hazy.
It was quite an impressive 'mountain'!
It was quite a good- sized "mountain" in an otherwise tiny enclosure.
I believe this featured on one of those original Paignton Zoo programmes, that I can`t remember the name of, when they had to catch the Barbary Sheep up, again for some reason that I can`t remember.......er.....who am I......????????
'The Zoo Keepers'?
