Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden What's Gnu at the Cincinnati Zoo - 2014

What I'm worried about though is that construction workers are still building this fox exhibit like any other zoo would for meerkats. It includes 4 termite mounds, a burrow, and a crawl in tunnel for kids. I have a photo of it, but that is something I definitely cannot show.

The map also says that the Kea Exhibit will open June 1st, and the zoo will call the dogs 'African Painted Dogs'.

More updates... The Yellow-backed Duiker was taken down, and I should mention that the baby Okapi (Kilua) was standing dormant right next to the viewing area.
-The Wings of Wonder shows are now running.
-The Eastern Box Turtle is now back on exhibit, but this time it is not in Wolf Woods, it replaced the Three-banded Armadillo in the Children's Zoo.
-There is a new, small, blue-gray colored bird in the South America exhibit in WotW.
-This is not important but it is to me, Michael Jackson's Love Never Felt So Good featuring Justin Timberlake (big mistake) is the main theme song for the bird show.

Because its the 100th Anniversary year of the death of Martha the Passenger Pigeon, the Wings of Wonder bird show presents facts about the species throughout the show and explains why extinction for birds and all species affects us and nature.

It looks much better than I thought it would. In your opinion, is there sufficient space left for path, visitor viewing, hippo pool and land as well as LSS and holdings? Pictures would be nice. :p

Maybe I can give you some top secret photos:). Space for paths are very limited, the widest it gets is 15 ft. The hippo holding hasn't been built yet, however, I noticed yesterday that the water filtration system has already been built. I'm not home, but I'll give you a number for the remaining space left. I think it should be good, just imagine it being similar to Busch Gardens but slightly larger.

Here it is.... This all adds up to 33,850 sq. ft. and this excludes the wild dog and bat-eared fox exhibits, and the hoofstock holding. The hippo holding will most likely be on the right side. And Busch Gardens's hippo complex as a whole is 31,000 sq. ft.

Interesting. I hope they can pull it off. They have a wonderful collection. The exhibits are ok. I do like Jungle Trails, though.

-The zoo has a new Siamang

-I'm visiting today and the right enclosure wall for the wild dog exhibit is now complete.

-In the new Kea Encounter, the zoo will keep the birds from Lorikeet Landing and have tthem live together with the Kea.

does that mean the lorikeets and kea will be permanently together? Why did they not just do that before instead of constantly swapping them back and forth?

In the past it was lorikeets and other birds in the summer months and Kea in the winter. But I think it would've just been easier to keep them together permanently in the beginning as well.

I've been to the zoo 5 days in a row now and it is safe to say that the zoo no longer has their female Grevy's Zebras, so that just leaves Shewa, their only male and now their only zebra.
