Where do the Deer & Antelope Play?: A Look at America's Ungulate Populations

I had always thought these bison had no cattle genetics at all, until I found this. It states that the Minnesota Bison Conservation Herd's animals are composed of DNA about two-percent cattle. These animals are at several facilities, including the Minnesota Zoo, Oxbow Park and Zollman Zoo, and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. Is this true of all bison that are "pure"?

Pudu, Southern
Miller park zoo in Bloomington, Illinois recently acquired a Southern Pudu:

Miller Park Zoo will open the new South American exhibit later this month:
https://www.centralillinoisproud.co...ler-park-zoo-opens-new-south-america-exhibit/

On Friday June 23, 2023, at 9:30, South America habitats will be officially open to all visitors.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the Bush Dog plans came to fruition.

Muntjac, Reeve's
Wildebeest, White-bearded/Blue
Aikman Wildlife Adventure in Arcola, Illinois also has Nilgai, Reeve's Muntjac, Addax, and I can confirm the Blue Wildebeest.

I'm surprised it took 9 days for someone to notice I also forgot one of the most common species :D

They might still be cattle gene free. The website you found is about bison in Minnesota and not exclusively the zoo ones. The ones with cattle genetics may be at the other herds in the state. Though it wouldn't surprise me if there were some cattle genetics in the zoo herds. This program doesn't appear to manage bison at Cleveland.

No doubt that Minnesota Zoo has transferred bison to other zoos outside of Minnesota. Cleveland isn't part of the Minnesota Conservation Herd. In the same way that a tiger born at Cleveland could be sent to Europe. That tiger, nor the European zoo it was sent to, isn't part of the SSP.

I wasn't saying that the bison were apart of the Minnesota Conservation Herd, anyway, just that it was one of the facilities to have animals from the herd.

Brookfield no longer keeps Przewalski's Horse.

I can confirm that Animal Haven does not keep Dall Sheep.

They might still be cattle gene free.

All living Bison have minute traces of cattle blood running through their veins. No, really! A scientific study came out just over a year ago and finally proved it. Read it yourself here - Genomic evaluation of hybridization in historic and modern North American Bison (Bison bison) | Scientific Reports

I'm surprised that this development isn't well known here, it made waves in the bison keeping community to say the least.

I don’t know if all these animals are in the list but Mesker Park has the following:
Bactrian Camel
Reeve's Muntjac
Sichuan Takin
*A deer species on the map is shown, I don’t know what it is and it is bts for a habitat renovation*
Grant’s Zebra
Giraffe sensu latu
Sitatunga
Greater Kudu
Springbok? Didn’t see them
Blue Duiker
Indian Rhinoceros

Bison bison bison is arguably correct in that case however, given that it refers to the Plains subspecies of American Bison (AKA any American Bison that isn't a Wood Bison).

I'm deeply curious here as P-Horses are still on Brookfield's website... What happened to them? Where did they go?
I haven't visited recently enough to confirm if they left, but it was announced they would be moving to San Francisco. It's related to the Australia renovations.
