Reticulated giraffe Jengo (offspring of Uno & Ijuma) has moved to Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
A new male giraffe will arrive soon from the Netherlands.
Be surprise who!

Spent a great afternoon up at the Zoo and took some cool photo's (May upload them, but I'm not sure how you do that!). Saw the Blesbok for the first time, through a couple of fences and was awesome to see the Impala and Kudu out in the main paddock.
Also saw the Waterbuck in with the Zebra's for the first time, plus was surprised to see no Wolves...unless I missed some info on that!
Have the signs been removed from the wolf enclosure?

I can finally unzip my lips … Yes, it has been in the planning stages for a while.
I sort of presume they would be held elsewhere in the Park, though I don't know where they have any suitable housing.
Anyone else think that a bigger Asian Lion group would be better done at Whipsnade anyway? There's much more space, it would be more cheaply built, and Whipsnade actually has the Indian ungulates (Axis Deer, Nilgai and Blackbuck) that a proper "Lions of the Gir" exhibit needs to be credible.

Doesn't EAZA frown on African & Asian Lions being held on the same site?
