A pity, yes. The moose have proved to be victims of poor enclosure design and location - ultimately the enclosure was far too open, leading to high levels of stress and anxiety.
When I saw it I thought it wasn't very good, being so open- it seems they had just put them where it was convenient without taking into account their habits at all. Anyway too late to suggest that instead of getting rid, a new enclosure in a wooded area would be the answer, I suppose what's left of the Bluebell woodland area is sacrosanct anyway. Perhaps their new homes can cater for their needs better.
