On March 13th, the zoo announced they opened a new koi pond with 'authentic' Japanese koi to the public. The zoo also announced they moved their other koi to the ponds surrounding the primate islands.

The Small Mammals House is undergoing a "major renovation" and naked mole rats are going to be included.

That was an OK house, but I am excited to see how they change things around in it.

On September 3rd, the zoo announced that a capybara named Ahsoka/Snips was born the week prior which is now on display in the Shipwreck Cove exhibit.

The new exhibit for African wild dogs opened (outside of Dragon World, the serval is still on the map online, but that's the space). The yard looks really well done with grass, rocks, varied heights, etc.

Also, a new exhibit for red and white giant flying squirrels. They claim to be the only zoo in the USA with an exhibit for the squirrels that is open to the general public.

The squirrels are in the Predators aquarium building, which makes me wonder what they took the place of.

I saw a pair of squirrels appear in a private breeding operation in the USA recently, could it be that they're spreading due to dealers?
