Yorkshire Wildlife Park Yorkshire Wildlife Park News 2013

Good news the last polar bears I saw where in Amsterdam and Edinburgh neither filled me with much satisfaction, but this site looks fantastic I will definately have to call in on my way north as soon as the works is done.

Polar bears? Wow! Fantastic news indeed!

So will YWP be the third public collection in the UK to have them, after Highland Wildlife Park and Amazing Animals/Heythrop Zoo (which isn't really that "public" as it's only open a few days a year)? Great stuff. I'm really thrilled by this news.

I'd have thought this news would have deserved its own thread!

I believe the 2012 challenge would have worked out rather differently had this happened earlier ;) hopefully this dramatic irony bodes for an explosion of leopard cats and black-footed cats in another year or so!

I am truly overdue a visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Tschuna the Amur tiger arrived from Dudley and was seen out and about for the first time last Sunday.

The leopard departures/arrivals are still on the cards but some of the links in the chain are holding things up, except the boys are now not going to Russia as previously intended.

The bearworks are even bigger than the first time I saw them.

The rhea are off show because they don't like the bearworks.

Saw both the anteaters but I've realised I've not heard the name of the male (or remembered the name of the female)

The shop is now in the cafe whilst work is being done on the whole shop/playbarn area.
