When I have spoken to any members of the "carnivore" keepers at Y.W.P. they seem to except that the Mexican bear will never arrive. I think it was pretty much dead in the water before it started. It is their number 1 attraction and aren't just going to give it away.
They also said that its possible that pairs of bears could be accommodated if they are already familiar with each other. I assume that would be same sex animals though.
Cant wait for this exhibit to finally come to fruition, another massive feather in Y.W.P's cap if they pull it off anywhere like as good as most of their other exhibits. I hope they add some other Arctic tundra based animals too such as Arctic fox, snowy owl/wolves etc.( but definitely NO penguins)
I suspect you will have to ask for your money back from Born Free,as it was never going to happen, given there anti-zoo stance!!!We need some updated pictures/photos of the polar bear enclosure! I hope they get Yupi to Doncaster, after all this effort and money raised for Yupi.

Now that they have received their first polar bear from the EEP, it is a question of time before a suitable same sex play mate or a youngish / sub-adult female polar bear will enter ... Give it a half- to a full year at the latest!![]()
I don't think he is actually there yet.
I spoke to one of the keepers who sort of resigned himself to the fact that pretty much as soon as he arrives he will be on show. You cant blame the park owners as they have laid out massive amounts of money on this exhibit and need to reclaim some as soon as possible. Just hope he doesn't get too stressed and shys away from view points.
There is a good argument for animals like this arriving in the depths of Winter when they have plenty of time to settle in undisturbed. As you say this one is arriving peak season and they will want him out and on show a.s.a.p.
Yupi was just a very good piece of PR,anybody with any sense knew it would never happen given that the other party's involved,in trying to get the animal out of Mexico are all very ANTI-ZOO!!!Wonder if Victor has arrived yet
Still hoping for Yupi
So little news??
I think Victor is on his way or already here.
I was looking on twitter and found this...

Not sure if YWP will be happy that pics are being put up prior to the exhibit opening. Though it does look stunning.
