Sad news about the male Spotted Hyena. The zebu/more domestic animals leaving will be a noticeable departure but am I right in thinking that is the last of the non predator species gone?Somes news ...
- Taurus, male Spotted Hyena, died at the age of 38 this winter.
- Caracals and Fishing Cats have received new, enlarged exhibits.
- The pygmy zebu and the llama finally left the park to join an "Petting zoo". Their former enclosure is under construction to expand the space for big cats (probably lions).
The zoo reopens on February 17

Oh yes, I nearly forgot about the goat and sheep walkthrough! That is quite a good line up with lots of cats and owls as well as two species of hyena.Yes ! In fact, there are only Ouessant sheep and pygmy goats left in addition to the predators.
Of the 70 species, there are currently around twenty species of felines, around twenty of owls, a few canids (wolves, bush dogs), two species of hyenas, meerkats and diurnal birds of prey.
Do you know what happened to the (Arctic?) Wolves that were in that enclosure previously?- New species : Coyotes (Canis latrans).

I do hope they switch over to European or Iberian lynx in future and transfer out the Canadian lynx to US/Canada, if possible/applicable.Le Domaine des Fauves welcomed two new Canadian Lynx.
1.1 arrive from the Lumigny safari reserve which stops presenting this species.
Domaine des Fauves is now the only one in France to see Canadian lynx.

Amur leopard cat is their first pair? Gordon's wild cat female is to pair up with offspring born in August 2023 (to their original pair)?- New jaguarundi birth on August 15, it's a male.
- Arrival of 1.0 Amur Leopard Cat and 0.1 Gordon's Wildcat from Jihlava in September.
