I have been to 7 facilities within Connecticut, not counting Audubon rescue/nature centers. To my knowledge, there is only one public zoological facility within the state that I have not visited.

I can do my other totals at a later date when I have some more time.

With the addition of Jack Facente Serpentarium, I now have snowleopard beat with 29 Wisconsin zoos!

That's hilarious...congratulations! There's probably not too many people on the planet that have been to that many Wisconsin zoos. Ha! Now you need to see a few more to complete the entire set of zoological attractions in the state.

Here are the zoos that I've visited:

Wisconsin – 28 zoos (Milwaukee, Henry Vilas, Racine, NEW (Northeastern Wisconsin), Lincoln Children’s, Wildwood Wildlife Park, International Crane Foundation, Irvine Park, Ocshner Park, Timbavati, Wisconsin Deer Park, Alligator Alley, Animal Gardens Petting Zoo, Animal Haven, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, Bear Den, Beaver Springs Park Aq., Bruemmer Park, Doc’s Zoo, Glacier Ridge Animal Farm, Jo-Don Farms, MacKenzie Center, Menominee Park, Shalom Wildlife, Special Memories, Wilderness Walk, Wildwood Zoo, Wisconsin Big Cat Rescue)

Forgot about this thread! I now tie or lead in every state surrounding me.
Delaware: 3 (3 Palms, Barn Hill, Brandywine). Those are all of the zoos in DE. There's a few nature centers with odds and ends but nothing more than a couple of herps and fish, I once stopped at an antique store that had some farm animals, raccoons, and a fox, and there's a campsite with fallow deer.

Maryland: tie for 5 (Catoctin, Maryland Zoo, National Aquarium, Plumpton Park, Salisbury Zoo)

New Jersey: lead with 9 (Adventure Aquarium, Bergen County Zoo, Cape May County Zoo, Cohanzick Zoo, Jenkinson's Aquarium, Johnson Park, SeaQuest, Six Flags Great Adventure, Turtle Back Zoo). Not counting any from when I was a kid for that one.

Pennsylvania: lead with 11 (Claws N Paws, Electric City Aquarium, Elmwood Park Zoo, Keystone Safari, both Living Treasures locations, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Pocono Snake Farm, Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, ZooAmerica)

Virginia: tie with 10 (Leesburgh, Luray, Maymont, Metro Richmond, Natural Bridge, Roer's Zoofari, VA Aquarium, VA Living Museum, VA Safari, VA Zoo)

Does Washington DC count towards Maryland or Virginia? I have both for there as well, the zoo and the aquarium that closed years ago.

I am sorry I am late here, but I want to throw in my tallies as well. I am going to include aquariums if that it ok as well. My count might actually be higher than listed, as I am only including AZA facilities (formerly and currently accredited).

California: 18
Arizona: 6
Utah: 2
Idaho: 1
Colorado: 3
New Mexico: 4
Texas: 15
Louisiana: 5
Florida: 15
Illinois: 3
Minnesota: 1

It looks like a combined total of 73.

Here’s my List.

California:2
Florida: 2-4 (Depends on if you count the Disney facilities separately)
Hawaii:2
Illinois:1
Iowa:1
Massachusetts:1
Michigan:1
Minnesota:10-13 (Depends on if you define a nature center with a few reptiles, raptors, & some fish as zoological facilities)

I’ve got:
Connecticut: 1
District of Columbia: 1
Florida: 2
Maine: 1
Massachusetts: 8 (9 if you count a tiny petting zoo)
New York: 4
Rhode Island: 2
South Carolina: 2
Utah: 1

I think that’s all but I could be wrong

Including Aquariums, I have:
Massachusetts: 9 (Capron Park, Buttonwood, NEAQ, Franklin Park, Stone, Southwicks, Lupa, Woods Hole Aquarium, Zooquarium (closed)), also a tiny petting zoo and the museum of science if those count.
Rhode Island: 1 plus a small petting zoo.
Connecticut: 1
New York: 4
Maine: 2
New Hampsshire: 1
New Jersey: 1
Maryland: 1
Ohio: 2
DC: 1
Illinois: 2
Missouri: 1
Florida: 1, 2 if the Seas at Epcot counts

I think that's everything.

I have seen my home state mentioned, and I would like to add on to this. Illinois has 6 institutions accredited by the AZA.

Yes, I had intended on counting aquariums. May I ask why you only count AZA facilites?
