I figured it out. It's because the .nif file was referencing a .dds that doesn't exist. It works with certain levels of detail that don't use the _blink. Anyway, that's all pretty technical, but that's why it works for some and not others, it's based on the level of detail your game is set at.
 
Were you able to find the ground squirrel?

I was looking on Zoo Tycoon Super Form and saw you are rank 3 can you get downloads then? I got 9 posts how many do I need? I heard that it is hard to get downloads. If so could you maybe send me the link for the rock fence download?

I barely realized that I already had the ground squirrels.:D

I'm still not able to reach the exclusives even though I have a rank 3 in the forum.
 
I've been playing ZT1 and ZT2 for quite awhile...since I was 10 and I'm 17 now. I've made custom content and such for both too. The game is certainly dieing though, most communities aren't family friendly and its managed by a bunch of screaming 14 year olds. I'm pretty picky with downloading custom content though, most of it is alright but not completely realistic (Most of the game isn't either) but I like to keep things simplistic just by using some design content and mostly official content. I'm the same way about my downloads. If there are things about it that I don't like that area easily fixable, I custom edit some of them, but I have very stringent requirements.

Nice giant eland by the way. Best one I've seen out there. Just a shame the neck isn't meshed to be thick like an elands.

Haha, all my work is out-dated atm. I've got plenty of unreleased stuff. I might redo a lot of things some day.
 
Yeah I'm interested to in what unreleased stuff you have. I'm interested in designing but keep on running into problems. Could does anyone know where to start as far as designing goes.
 
Does anybody know how to code an animal's space needs? I'm just tired of some small animals needing so much space, specially the reptiles.

Also, does anybody knows how to change the animals' biomes?
 
Yeah, I like the maned wolf too. And the pampas grass that comes with it.

I tryed using CJZJimmy's instructions on downloading a z2f. file, but It still sin't working

I tried getting the Vancouver Island Marmot off of Artifex and this is how I did it

When the thing that comes up and has the choices "Save" or "Run", I saved it to the Zoo Tycoon 2 folder like he said

I checked the game and the marmot wasn't there?

I desperately want to download these user made downloads on the web but I just do not understand how

Is there a step im missing as in do I have to extract files of any sort? If so how?

Ok, don't "Save" it to your Zoo Tycoon 2 file right away. Just save it as a .zip file. You should then go to your downloads section in your computer and open the zip file of the marmot. There should be a .zt2 file in that folder. You then copy the file into your Zoo Tycoon 2 folder and that should be it. Hopefully this helps.

Does the Addax have a .zt2 file? if so, can somebody sent it to me through email? I just can't get it to install for some reason.
