Zoo Tycoon Zoo Tycoon Much!!

you can find the ability to make indoor enclosures/buildings. It modifies the elevated path ways and adds walls to fences. I have zoos with function reptile houses, aviaries, etc/

That sounds really cool! Can you post a photo so we can get a visual idea of what you're talking about?

Here are some examples of what I did with the stuff he is talking about :P

I can't tell really. I have over 500 downloads and a lot of the stuff I have is made by friends and not released on any site.

Coming on ZooChat made me realize, I would REALLY love a super hardcore Zoo Tycoon game. Something with more elements to it, where you can play with different modes and restrictions if you wish. And have more challenges that represent problems real life zoos would face. And different set difficulty levels, so it can appeal to casual and hardcore players, beginners and advanced ones, kids and adults, whatever. The tougher modes would have stricter rules and tougher challenges. Have more zoo management, like creating ad campaigns and trying to get endorsements from celebrities and such. Being able to put animals on birth control. Trying to deal with criticisms toward your zoos, and the occasional PR disaster. Getting to make indoor exhibits, aviaries, and small exhibits. I'm disappointed that we FINALLY get a new ZT game and it's kiddier than ever.

And definitely, some DLC. Give more opportunity to have rarer and more obscure animals and such.

(too bad my computer can't take much download, otherwise I'd get some of these cool fan-made expansions)

I've recently restarted playing the game again and have already downloaded multiple animals off of Gaia and some other sites but for some reason when the vast majority of the downloads are placed on the ground the appear with large black squares around them and/or appear completely white and colorless! Any idea on what's causing this?

Also, it seems I've either lost of broken all of my expansion disks apart from the original so does anyone know if there's any place where I can download the original expansion packs (i.e. Endangered Animals and African Adventure, ect.).

Thanks in advance!

I reviewed a browser tycoon game, the My Free Zoo. According to many source it is one of the best zoo games - however I didn't like it. Do you agree: www.zoomoments.com/index.php/categories/zoolife/40-let-s-play-my-free-zoo-review

Haven't played it, but it does sound a bit dull. Microtransaction games are usually like that. Though I don't see where the review calls it one of the best zoo games.

On a side note... I would pay good money for a big, hardcore zoo game. If we can have 700 Pokemon, then surely we can get a zoo simulator with at least a few hundred animal species. And throw in aspects to make it more similar to real-life zoos. (such as an accreditation mechanic, breeding management with a genetics system, etc.)

That needs to be a thing

I am sure that the zoo management could be simulated well in 'hardcore' style too. Animal exchanges, collection planning, breeding programs -many aspects which could be basics of virtual community and would make the gameplay more exciting.

I have a 10 page Word document on all the stuff I'd want to see in a hardcore zoo game. (yes, I have a lot of free time. I also had another ten pages for the animal list, but I deleted it) If I were a game designer I'd try to make it myself, ha ha. I guess the original games were made primarily with kids in mind, so they wouldn't have wanted to make it too complicated. I guess if simulator games become popular again, we might get a hardcore zoo games.

I'm working on something like that right now. Would you mind posting it so we could see. I'll probably be making and posting an animal list soon with ideas for DLCs and things like that.

I'll edit it a bit (it's a little sloppy) and post a link to a document later today, since you're interested. I took out my animal list, but I think I'll add my DLC ideas to it. (mostly themed packs with new animals and challenges. I rather like the idea of having paid DLC where the money goes to conservation and non-profit zoos) Maybe I'll start an animal list again later and post it as a separate document, ha ha.

I play MyFreeZoo. It's fine for what it is (browser zoo game).

I too wish we had a truly complex and huge zoo game
