Checked through some photos that I though were all redwings but one proved to be:
44) Fieldfare

This should have been added to my first post (it is in my birding notes)
45) Mistle Thrush
 
Went for a tramp along the edges of the fields near work this lunchtime and managed to pick up one new species:

44. Eurasian Sparrowhawk - Accipiter nisus

In general, feral animals don't count. So dogs, cats, and most other forms of domestics won't count. Exceptions to this would be "wild" horses in the American west, feral hogs, and a maybe one or two others.

I think some rules should be added to the first post to specify what species can be counted, as this issue of introduced/feral/domestic species seems to come up every year (e.g http://www.zoochat.com/65/2014-zoochat-big-year-350079/index15.html).

My rule for whether something can be counted or not is simply: Any species I saw wild-living that is part of an established population. Therefore basically everything is countable, except pets or farm animals, captive animals and escapees that have not established.

So I would count feral pigeons in any town I saw them, as they are almost certainly part of a wild, established population, but not a cat I saw as how would I know if its a pet, recent escapee or feral? However if I saw a cat in the central Australian outback, where there is hardly any chance of it being a pet, I would count it as a feral cat.
