A species I would like to see. Was it easy to find? Did you have to climb high or was the location easy to access by car e.g. mountain pass/ski slope.

Was it anywhere near Cabarceno?;)

Where in Texas are you seeing those mammals?

Very easy to find where we saw them - at the top of the Fuente De cable car (CANTUR ? Sociedad Regional Cántabra de Promoción Turística - Cantabria - Actualidad en Teleférico de Fuente De) - about 2hr drive from Cabarceno. They were common up there - particularly around the cable car station/cafe.

Odessa. UT Permian Basin has a Prarie Dog town on its grounds. A nesting pair of Burrowing Owls are present too. The others near my wife's family home outside of town. Fox Squirrels also in Dallas.

Surprisingly no Roadrunners, Turkey Vultures, or Black-tailed Jackrabbits.

Will be heading south over the next few days to Davis Mountains State Park, Marfa (Pronghorns), Big Bend National Park, and Amistad Recreation Area. I know a very good spot for spotlighting near San Felipe Springs in Del Rio that should let add a few small nocturnal species, as well as Beaver and Nutria.

I was there today. I had no idea about the Prarie Dogs until I was driving by the campus heading towards the intersection with 42nd. I'd seen the Rabbits and the Spotted Ground Squirrels and then Prarie Dogs! I hardly registered the Dogs when I spotted the Owls. Went to the in-laws grabbed the camera and headed back. Will post photos.

Might want to check on those two sparrows. Neither are found in Texas this time of year.

Will do. Is it possible I've been skunked by female house sparrows? I'll check my photos and the book again...I was fairly confidant, but probably punching a bit above my weight in identifying small brownish birds.

Brewer's and Clay-colored Sparrows removed from list...for now. ;-)

Haven't been able to do any birding or nature-ing in a while but I had a chance to visit a nature reserve on the outskirts of Warsaw today and see a few nice species.

Mammals:
38) European Otter

Birds:
266) Eurasian Reed Warbler

Herps
7) Marsh Frog
8) Pool frog (actually saw this earlier in the year missed it off this list)
 
A little run out to mid Wales today with two species in mind, both of which were very obliging:

204. Manx Shearwater (Puffinus puffinus)
205. Osprey (Pandion haliaetus)
