Just realised I listed Spilopelia chinensis twice under two different common names, so my total remains at 96.
Just noticed I forgot to list Great comorant which is a species I've seen a while ago and see often so I should be on 95 instead of 94.
To increase the total a bit, I spent 3 hours in Souss-Massa National Park on the 1st of May and as usual what a delight it was!

Also noteworthy is that all three lifers were very high on my list and all are relatively common species in my area but that I had kept on missing before that day and also that said day I registered my highest species total during a birding session at 47 species in 3 hours which is quite good, in my opinion.

After this morning's warbler bonanza, I had to decide what to do for the rest of the day. I thought about doing something productive, but went "ah, screw it" and went birding at a local spot known for waterbirds. I didn't expect any year list birds, but I got some anyway

Sorry for the late response - yeah, there's usually no more than one bird recorded in Victoria each year, if any
55) Little Black Shag Phalacrocorax sulcirostris in Wellington Harbour earlier today.
Last year I only made it to 57 birds for the year, so I'm almost there (i.e. almost done for the year...)
