Feral dogs aren't common in the US, but they may be found scattered around the county in small numbers. Are there feral dogs in the USA?

I personally think the duck is a cape shelduck. If it is it would be interesting to find out how it ended up in Werribee. Here’s another photo:

BirdsI had a great day at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and decided to take the scenic route to the zoo (a 6:30am train from Brisbane to Gold Coast). I quite enjoyed spotting birds from the train carriage in the early morning and saw some species I didn’t expect to see so early in the year.
The majority of the waterbirds, turtle and eel came from Currumbin itself. I also picked up an unexpected (and long-overdue) lifer!

Unfortunately, mammal 4 and birds 25-26 were only seen because they were flushed by a New Years' day hunt. Not the scenario I would like to see any wildlife really.
