First post for me this year and first time starting the big year from 1st Jan so looking forward to seeing what I come across as well as reading all the great lists! I only list birds I have managed to get a decent photo of. It was a fortunate start on a few days out with some of my favourite small birds and great views of flying cranes.

Slimbridge on a chilly but very bright day yielded some great views including Coal tit, Crane and a Kingfisher. Might be some other small waders from this one, need to take a closer look at the pictures. There was also a non counting but wild Black Swan, one of a couple of vagrant birds seen regualrly around the reserve, this time annmoying two mute swans who 'own' one of the smaller water areas. Nice pictures as was super close but not one for the number overall.
