Just you wait until Monday when I visit the Smithsonian National Zoo. Potential for as many as 13 new carnivores including the 3 obvious ones I missed in Asia/Australia.
Alsoo I have a few to add that I had forgotten from my original post (this is what happens when you make your list at 2am out of 26 zoos months after visiting them).
13? Geez, I just visited the zoo and I didn't think there were 13 species there.

Haha I just took a gander at their species list on their website- most of the 13 are relatively common in zoos (and I may well have already seen them/ran past them on my asian tour). Now that this is a goal, I'll be sure to run a little slower past each one and take note haha.

As I mentioned above I did a shoddy job remembering my entire carnivore list seen from my 10 country zoo trip. Combination of it being 2am, and trying to look through thousands of photos months after the fact haha. Looking over my life list reminded me of a few I forgot:

If these species were seen months ago, I would say this is yet another member contravening rule 7 - regular updates! This is becoming a farce ! In theory if this is allowed, someone could post 150 species on 31 December and win !! It's against the rules and certainly not in the spirit of the game!!

I think you are being needlessly aggressive, @pipaluk - until his recent burst of activity, @Giant Eland had not been regularly active on the site for some time (and has been busy visiting the various collections mentioned in his ongoing thread since returning) so I think that waiting until he was no longer busy to post his total isn't a problem.
Moreover, by your logic you strongly imply that you think only those who have been active in the thread since it was originally started are permitted to compete - which really does come across as aggressive / pedantic given the fact this would rule out the participation of new members

I will retire from the challenge until 31 December then and see how many I have!
I object to being called aggressive , particularly when someone clearly has broken the rules as 2 people have! I merely questioned whether that should be looked at!!!
Perhaps I should have contacted Thylo behind the scenes ?!

@pipaluk I have no issue with these members posting their totals when they did. @Joker1706 already stated he hadn't even seen the thread until only several days before posting, and @Giant Eland has just gotten around to going through the results of his trip. These things happen and I don't think there are any grounds for action against them. I'd be quite the hypocrite if I did, too, considering I didn't have my own totals from mainly January ready to be posted until mid-March (much later on the NA Challenge thread). Neither of them waiting until the last minute to post either, we still have over one quarter of the year left for others to overtake them.
And for the record if you wait until December 31 to post your finals you will be the only one violating Rule 7...

Hey all. I certainly didn't mean to ruffle any feathers (or fur haha). Like @Joker1706 I only just noticed the challenge at the beginning of August. Trust me I would've been all over a challenge like this had I seen it earlier. I wish I had ever noticed them in years past, would've loved something like that. If anything learning about the challenge late hurt me otherwise I would've made it a point to see gimmes like Meerkats, Otters and Red Pandas already. I don't suspect this will be an issue for very long now that I'm challenge committed haha.
Before this trip there was nothing to update as they were my first zoos of the year- end of April through middle of May. After I came home I had to prepare for a law exam and went offline for 1.5 months. On the trip I had so little free time (26 zoos, 19 flights, in 10 countries in 22 days haha) and consistent internet on my trip that it would've been pretty impossible to update each day anyways.
For my two weeks in Europe September I will likely be under similar conditions (probably visiting 35 zoos) so probably wont post those totals until I'm back home (but I'll definitely do it first thing when I return this time) Is that acceptable for a long trip outside of my home country?

Also sorry for forgetting those 5 species- you have to understand my goal for the trip was focusing on new mammal species. So when I was visiting Perth, Numbats and Dibblers were all the rave and my 1 photo of the pack of hunting dogs gets pushed to the back of my mind. I'm totally in the game now though and will purposely be seeking out carni's and posting more frequently/immediately (Sunday and Monday will bring 2 new zoos for 2018). I sincerely hope you'll continue the challenge despite my coming to the party late

You went to Taman Safari earlier this year!? Did you see the Sunda Clouded Leopards or Bay Cat!? Was the Sulawesi palm civet still around?
EDIT- I just saw you mentioned seeing the Sunda Clouded! Luckyyyy!! They were completely off show for breeding purposes when I was there, such a shame!!
