Also- a clarification/question about Bonafide Rarity Hunter. If I see an animal that's the only of its subspecies in the country, does it count? Or does that not work since it isn't at species-level?

Has to be at species level. They're not the only mhorrs, anyway.

Also- a clarification/question about Bonafide Rarity Hunter. If I see an animal that's the only of its subspecies in the country, does it count? Or does that not work since it isn't at species-level?

As @TinoPup said, it must be species level. No exceptions.

As a general rule, I personally will probably never allow subspecies as countable units in this game. As I've said before, you can note subspecies if you want but I always ignore it and count everything at species level.

Also a note in case anyone's ever wondered: I like update posts when I tally them into the spreadsheet, in case you ever wondered why there's a time gap on me doing that sometimes. It's to let you know it's been seen and counted.

A few days I compared how many I'd got in relation to the challenge but in Europe instead. Just to clarify I have not visited any North American zoos this year, so obviously my tally won't be counted but just thought it would be interesting to see where this challenge was particularly difficult for Europeans versus North Americans.

I have visited London Zoo, Pafos Zoo, Birdworld and London Wetland Centre so far this year, with plans for Hamerton and maybe a couple of places further abroad, so using the above colour code to clarify where I saw what:

Breakfast of Champions: 0/1

Completed: 10/36
In progress: 20/36

The hardest ones for Europeans look to be the Edgar Allen Poe (the two Corvus and the New World jay), the Rookery Roundabout (we don't have that much penguin variety) and One Drop One Life with the 8 rattlesnakes.
The ones that appear easier are all the bird ones (apart from the two noted above and the Alfred Russel Wallace), and Bona Fide Rarity Hunter.

One other question: would European mouflon count for Bovine Bonanza?

Sorry for the wait, didn't realize how long ago this was. Mouflon is fine; I've added it to your score so you're at 5/20 for Bovine Bonanza.

Polly Wants 20 (10/20)
Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) - Southwick's Zoo (4/9/22)
Cockatiel (Nymphicus hollandicus) - Southwick's Zoo (4/9/22)

You're at 12/20 with these two actually, since the two parrots you added in your previous post made 10.

Also a note for anybody who wondered or asked: Budgerigar and Cockatiel count for Polly Wants 20 and Steve Irwin. Exotic pets are a gray area when it comes to "domestic" and I didn't clarify what I wanted early on, so I think it's just easier to give you all carte blanche on that. Feel free to retroactively count them if you assumed I wouldn't take them. Remember the rules about what facilities count though; don't be giving me budgies you see at the pet store.

Bona Fide Rarity Hunter:
2. San Marcos Salamander (Eurycea nana)

I'd be surprised to see this species kept elsewhere. The lake next to the tiny aquarium is the only place in the world the species can be found.

Also do fish count for bona fide rarity hunter?

I would be as well; having done a lot of research on salamander holdings in the US, I've never come across that Eurycea species. But you never know :p

Also do fish count for bona fide rarity hunter?

Sure. There's no taxonomic restrictions on Bona Fide, so long as it's species level.

Pick Your Poison (8/9)

Just so you're aware, you are at 7 of 9 and have been since you counted them in your first post :p you also only need 6 PDFs or 3 mantellas rather than 9 total, but since you're still one short of both it remains uncompleted.

The Coelacanth Stamp of Approval (8/15)

Another reminder that you only need 12, not 15 (though there are 15 to choose from).
